Our Evening at the Globe Theatre (Oct.18)

What an amazing evening! We took an Uber Boat (think large water taxi) along the Thames River in London and got off at the Bankside Pier.

. Off the landing we were at the Globe Theatre.

We had tickets to see “Much Ado About Nothing” at 7:30pm so we decided to find a nearby pub and have some dinner before entering the theatre.

We found the Founding Arms right along the Thames River with an amazing view of St Paul’s Cathedral across the River.

We managed to get a window table and ordered a few quick pints. I ordered the Brooklyn Brewery Lager and David ordered a local Ale, which were both delicious.

I ordered fish and chips. David ordered a traditional burger and chips. I couldn’t believe the huge size of the fish on my dinner. I shared more than half of it with David as his burger was on the small size. The chips were great!

When we walked out of the restaurant, the lights were on St. Paul’s Dome and some of the London’s skyscrapers.

We took a quick stroll along the Thames River back to the Globe Theatre. We had reserved seats in that were centerstage of the theatre in the middle level. We especially wanted a seat with a back so we could lean back during the 3 hr performance. We also paid extra for cushions to use on the wooden benches.

Here was our view of the set for the play before the performance began. We had wonderful seats, and the play was excellent!

After the play, we headed to the nearest bus stop to get back to our London hotel. We had a wonderful evening! Hope you enjoyed seeing our adventures!

Happy Stamping!

Susan
