The Casually Crafting Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, gathered together to share our passion for creativity with you. Our focus is to bring you inspiration featuring projects that are easy to create while still packing a powerful creative punch. The projects are made with only a few products, making them ideally suited to a beginner or casual crafter. This month we’ll be creating cards or projects using a Color Challenge.

I selected the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks to design my card. These stencils are an easy way to blend colors on your cards and other paper crafting projects. You can use the background masks on their own. But your images will really pop when you layer the detailed masks over the backgrounds to get even more depth and dimension. Use with Classic Stampin’ Ink and coloring tools such as Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers for beautiful color. You can also use them with Embossing Paste and Palette Knives for textured designs.

To Make This Card:
- Get a 4.25″ x 10.0″ piece of Rich Razzelberry cardstock and score at 5.5″
- Use the flower background mask, Blending Brushes, and Rich Razzelberry ink to color a 4.0″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Tip: Use Post it Tape or Washi Tape to secure both the piece of cardstock and the mask, so they do not move as you are using the Blending Brushes.
- Cut a 1′ strip off the right-hand side of the stenciled Basic White cardstock. This will be used to decorate the inside of your card.
- Attach the remaining 4.0″ x 4.0″ stenciled Basic White cardstock to the front of the card.
- Use the mask with the large four flowers, Blending Brushes, and Fresh Freesia ink to stencil a 3.0″ x 4.0″ piece of Basic White cardstock.
- Gentle remove the mask and attach the detailed four flowers mask on top of the same piece of Basic White cardstock.
- Now use the Blending Brush and Rich Razzelberry ink to add the flower highlights on top of the Fresh Freesia flowers.
- Now use the mask with the leaves, Blending Brushes, and Old Olive ink to add leaves to the outside of the large flowers
- Attach the Basic White cardstock with the flowers to a 3.125″ x 4.125″ piece of Old Olive cardstock using your favorite adhesive.
- Attach the Old Olive cardstock to a 3.25″ x 4.25″ piece of Rich Razzelberry using your favorite adhesive.
- Attach to the front of the card using dimensionals.
- Stamp ” Happy Birthday” from the Celebrating You Stamp set using Rich Razzelberry ink onto Basic White cardstock.
- Use the Label Me Fancy Punch to cut out the sentiment.
- Attach the sentiment to the front of the card using dimensionals.
- Tie a piece of Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon into a bow and attach to the front of the card using a glue dot.
- Add some Pearl Basic Jewels to the center of each flower.
- Stamp “You are every bit of Wonderful” from the Celebrating You Stamp set using Rich Razzelberry in the center of a 4.0″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White cardstock.
- Attach the 1.0″ x 4.0″ strip of stenciled paper to the right-hand side of the Basic White cardstock using your favorite adhesive.
- Attach the Basic White cardstock to the inside of the card using your favorite adhesive.
