Ink & Inspiration Design Team Blog Hop – January, 2022

We are a group of Stampin’ Up Demonstrators from around the world and our goal is to inspire you to make and send cards to family and friends.

We’re trying something new, and we hope you’ll enjoy the variety. Designers can use the image or the color challenge or both as our inspiration for creating our cards or projects. Here is this month’s image and color challenge.

The image reminds me of a very special lake in the high Sierra’s where my husband proposed to me after a 10-day backpacking trip more than 40 years ago. There were no waterfalls, but a beautiful lake surrounded by oak trees. It was magical and we still remember our trip with fond memories. 

When designing my card, I immediately thought of making an Anniversary Card with the Love & Happiness Bundle on page 11 of the January- June Mini Catalog. This new bundle includes the Love & Happiness Stamp set that has a variety of wonderful sentiments for weddings, anniversaries, congratulations, and just letting someone know they are special! The bundle also contains matching dies as well as a Bouquet of Love Embossing Folder. I love that Stampin’ Up has been producing bundles that include Embossing Folders and this one is awesome!

Here is my Book Fold Card. I used Fresh Freesia and Basic White cardstock with Fresh Freesia ink and Open Weave Ribbon as well as some 2021-2022 In Color Jewels. 

Measurements – Imperial and Metric

Card Base – Fresh Freesia: 4.25” x 11.0”, scored at 4.25” and 5.5” OR 10.5 cm x 29.7 cm. scored at 10.5 cm and 14.9 cm

 Layer 1 – Basic White: 4.0” x 4.0” OR 10.0 cm x 10.0 cm

 Inside – Basic White: 4.0” x
4.0″ OR 10.0 cm x 10.0 cm

To Make the Card

• Cut all the cardstock and
  designer series papers using the measurements above.
• Use a bone folder to make crisp folds along both score lines.
• Attach the two pieces of the Fresh Freesia card base together
  between the two score lines using your favorite adhesive. This makes the “book”
  end of the card.
•  Use the Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon around the “book” end of the
  card and tie a bow.
• Use the Bouquet of Love Embossing Folder and the Stampin’ Cut and
  Emboss Machine to emboss a piece of Basic White cardstock.
• Attach the embossed Basic White cardstock to the Fresh Freesia card
  base using your favorite adhesive.
• Add three of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to either side of the
  sentiment.
• Stamp “Happy Anniversary My Love” from the Love & Happiness
  Stamp set onto Basic White cardstock using Fresh Freesia ink.
•  Attach the Basic White cardstock to the inside of the card using
  your favorite adhesive.
